Welcome to Ready, Set, STEM!
Ready, Set, STEM! is a summer and school-year STEM program for young children and their families, developed by UChicago STEM Education through a grant from the Boeing Company. The program will be offered at four Chicago Public Schools in 2019-2020.
The summer program is a five-week, half-day project-based camp for rising Kindergarteners, that includes outdoor explorations and play, math games, and hands-on STEM experiences about Living Things, Buildings and Structures, and Neighborhood Birds. We have partnered with Working in the Schools' (WITS) Early Childhood Summer Program to offer children a full day of camp programming: literacy and reading camp in the morning, and Ready, Set, STEM! in the afternoon.
We are continuing our collaboration with our four partner schools during the 2019-2020 school year, providing project-based STEM activities and supports for preschool and Kindergarten teachers at each school.
