COVID 19
We will post new STEM activities each week that families with young children can do together at home while they are sheltering in place.
These activities are available to everyone, and you will find them if you click on STEM FUN AT HOME.
Although we are listing the activities by week, they can be done in any order.
We invite you to join our UChicago Ready, Set, STEM facebook group to share pictures, drawings, or other artifacts from your experiences!

Welcome to Ready, Set, STEM!
Ready, Set, STEM! is a summer and school-year STEM program for young children and their families, developed by UChicago STEM Education through a grant from the Boeing Company.
The summer program is a five-week, half-day project-based camp for rising Preschoolers and Kindergarteners, that includes outdoor explorations and play, math games, and hands-on STEM experiences about Living Things, Buildings and Structures, and Neighborhood Birds. We have partnered with Working in the Schools' (WITS) Early Childhood Summer Program to offer children a full day of camp programming: literacy and reading camp in the morning, and Ready, Set, STEM! in the afternoon.
The school-year program includes cross-disciplinary STEM projects on various topics for preschool and kindergarten classrooms to use throughout the year, as well as Family STEM Events that complement each school-year STEM project.

On this site, we share many early childhood STEM activities from the Ready, Set, STEM! program with families in the program, as well as anyone else who is looking for playful, age-appropriate, and empowering ways to engage young children with STEM.
